How to Apply

Submit the online application.

Please email international@shoreline.edu for a paper application, if needed.

For concurrent enrollment or students with F-2, J-1, or J-2 visas:

• F-1 students enrolled in another U.S. school who want to take additional courses at Shoreline: F-1 Concurrent Enrollment Application
• F-2, J-1, or J-2 visa students who wish to take courses without changing visa status: F-2 Application or J-1 & J-2 Application
• B-1/B-2 visa holders who wish to change status to F-1: Shoreline Community College currently processes applications for students to apply for an F-1 visa in their home country. We do not process applications for purpose of changing status within the U.S. due to the lengthy waiting period for the USCIS decision process. Please contact us directly for additional information if needed.

Pay your application fee ($50) with our secure online form, which can be accessed by clicking the link here. This fee is non-refundable.

Part of the application fee will cover orientation and retention activities for students.

Please upload your most recent academic records (unofficial transcripts are acceptable) in the Academic History tab as you fill out the application.

If you need to, you can also upload after you submit your application on your Application Status page. If you have attended any school(s) in the U.S., you must provide a transcript for each school.

We reserve the right to ask for original documents.

Schools are legally required to verify funding information before issuing an I-20. Please submit a bank letter or balance statement issued within the last 6 months showing that there is a minimum balance of $23,940 to fund your tuition and living expenses for the first year.

Note: If you are sponsored by a relative (who is not your parent) or other person, an Affidavit of Support form is required.

Please upload your bank statement or letter into your application in the Financial Certification tab in your application when you apply. If you need to, you can also upload after you submit your application on your Application Status page.

If you are already an F-1 student in the U.S., the Program Choice tab of the application will ask for your current school ID number, the name of your current advisor, and the email of your current school advisor or DSO. By supplying that information, you will be authorizing us to send them a short form inquiring about your F-1 status. This is not a request to transfer your SEVIS record.

If you have already taken an English Proficiency test (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.), you may be eligible for exemption from ESL and/or EAP courses at Shoreline.

If you have proof of English proficiency, please upload it into the Test Scores tab in the application. If you need to, you can also upload after you submit your application on your Application Status page.

If you are applying for the High School Completion program, you will need to provide a Credential Evaluation of any overseas high school coursework and copies of any U.S. transcripts. This is not due at the time of admission.

All new F-1 full-time students applying to Shoreline Community College can request consideration for $500 individual scholarships within their International Student application.  To receive full consideration for the scholarship, your application must be received no later than 2 months before the International Student Orientation start date.

• Applicant must have been accepted to Shoreline Community College as an F-1 student
• Applicant must enroll full time (minimum of 12 credits) to receive the scholarship
• Applicant must not have previously attended any college in the United States
• Transfer students from another college or university are not eligible
• The Scholarship is a non-renewable, one-time award and will be applied directly to your first quarter's tuition
